Scotland Euro 2024: John McGinn issues challenge to prove doubters wrong

Midfielder calls on team to make history and reach knockout stages

Scotland's hopes of reaching the knockout stages of Euro 2024 are slim, but John McGinn has challenged his team to prove their doubters wrong.

Steve Clarke's side are bottom of Group F after two games, having lost to Czech Republic and England. They would need to beat Hungary in their final match and hope that Germany defeat the Czech Republic to have any chance of finishing second in the group.

However, McGinn is confident that Scotland have the mentality and capability to make history and reach the knockout stages for the first time.

"We know we're underdogs, but we're not afraid of anyone," said McGinn. "We've shown in the past that we can compete with the best teams in Europe, and we're determined to do it again."

"We're going to go out there and give it everything we've got. We know it's going to be tough, but we're confident that we can get the result we need."

Scotland face Hungary at the MHP Arena in Stuttgart on Tuesday, June 23. The match kicks off at 19:00 BST.
